Victoria Laguna Hive Project: Turning Waste Into Resources for a Greener Future MRF Upgraded to Waste-to-Resource Center
Victoria, Laguna, May 2025 – In a significant step toward promoting sustainable development and waste reduction, the Municipality of Victoria, Laguna, in partnership with Dana Asia, has officially launched the Victoria Laguna Hive Project—an upgraded waste management facility now operating as a Waste to Resource Center (WRC).
The project, funded through the efforts of Dana Asia (Link: Cycle for Recycling ) and supported by the local government, involves the transformation of the town’s former Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) into a pioneering hive for circular economy solutions in Southern Luzon.
Strategically positioned in Victoria, the Waste to Resource Center is expected to serve as a major supplier of sustainable building materials for South Luzon. MPDO says it will help meet the increasing demand for environmentally conscious construction while creating new green jobs and promoting innovation in waste utilization.
The initiative is seen as a model for other municipalities aiming to transition toward a circular economy, where waste is not just managed but transformed into valuable resources.
The Victoria Laguna Hive Project is now operational and welcomes partnerships from LGUs, construction firms, and sustainability advocates across the region.
